Welcome to Midway UMC'S Youth Ministries
Our Youth Ministry seeks to involve all young people in grades 6-12 in an informal time of Christian fellowship and growth. Involving your teens and pre-teens at Midway UMC helps them develop their own sense of values based on the Christian faith and relevant to their daily lives and relationships.
During the school year our youth have service projects, times of spiritual growth and reflection, movie nights, overnight retreats, and activities at church. During the summer, our youth have a beach trip, weeklong mission trip, and camping trips.
Youth Programs
Sunday Night Live
Sunday Night Live is dedicated to "what's buggin' Youth." We begin with a fun meal, break into small groups, gather for a worship service, and end with games/brain teasers and relays. If you can't "make it real," don't make it. All youth from 6th grade through 12th grade are invited and encouraged to come. There is a $3 donation for each person's meal. The only requirements are: 1) you come willing to share of yourself, 2) you come ready to listen to others' opinions, 3) you come willing to listen to what God might be telling you. This group meets in the fellowship hall for dinner at 5:30 and ends around 7:45. We hope to see you next Sunday! Wednesday Night Youth Study
Wednesday evening studies are for age appropriate Bible and world topic studies. Sixth through eighth grade will tackle difficult subjects together while Ninth through Twelfth grade will discover the mysteries of life and faith. All youth from 6th grade through 12th grade are invited to come. We will break up into groups right after Wednesday Night Suppers from approximately 6:30 to 7:45. Youth Praise Band
Each week, a group of youth participates in the Sunday evening youth worship service. On Sundays when instrumentalists are not available, youth will lead praise songs.
