Poplar Springs UMC Received Journey Stewardship Study Books

Midway recently donated study books from our Journey Stewardship study “Loving and Serving Others” to Poplar Springs UMC in Carrollton, GA.

Rev. Loretta Luke expressed her appreciation for our gift of love saying, “Your blessing will help start a small fire of love that will spread within our church and community. This gift feels just like God’s love right around the corner!”

We encourage Sunday school classes and Bible study groups to consider collecting books at the end of a group study, so that our church can pass them on to smaller churches who need resources.

Loving and Serving Others: The Practice of Risk-Taking Mission and Service (The Fruitful Living Series) is a book written by Robert Schnase, bishop of the Rio Texas Conference of The United Methodist Church.

From the publisher: "Since the publication of Five Practices of Fruitful Congregations, these five practices have helped hundreds of congregations understand their mission, renew ministries, and stretch toward fruitfulness and excellence for the purpose of Christ. Now, each of the five practices has been broken out into 4-week small group studies called The Fruitful Living Series that provide an honest, practical, and winsome guide to the spiritual journey. Loving and Serving Others: The Practice of Risk-Taking Mission and Service involves offering ourselves in purposeful service to others in need, making a positive difference even at significant personal cost and inconvenience to our own lives. We serve."
