With nearly three decades of experience in the ministry, Pastor Jennie came to Midway in June 2018 having most recently served as Sr. Pastor at Elizabeth Lee UMC in Chickamauga, GA, where the church experienced tremendous growth. A native of Roswell, she was raised in Roswell UMC and attended Candler School of Theology at Emory. Ordained in the UMC in 1990, she has served at several churches in the North Georgia Conference, as well as on the Board of Ministry for the Conference. Her husband, Herzen, leads Hillside UMC in Woodstock and they are the proud parents of two adult sons.
Minister of Music & Worship Arts
Jane has been Minister of Music and Worship Arts at Midway since 1999. She currently plans and organizes music for the traditional service, directs the Chancel Choir weekly and for special holiday services, and directs and plays the keyboard at the Contemporary Service. In addition, she works closely with the pastor to provide liturgical input and support for worship, oversees Communion servers, and leads large-scale musical events such as the annual Christmas cantata and Music for Missions fundraiser. She has many years of church and secular experience as a youth singer, high school and church accompanist, adult choir singer, organist, and worship leader for women’s retreats.
As the Director of the Midway Preschool/F.U.N. Kidz staff, Beth focuses on providing a loving Christian environment where children are able to experience positive physical, emotional, social, intellectual, and spiritual growth. Beth has been blessed by Midway’s children and their families since 1998.
As the Ministry Assistant, Judy provides a warm welcome to visitors during the week, and leads a wide range of office support functions, including some communications responsibilities, tracking data used in analyzing church growth, and oversight of the office support team of volunteers. She is active in the music ministry and volunteered in the church office and many other areas for many years.
Communications & Connections Coordinator
Joining the Midway staff in 2012, Julia oversees communication efforts, ensures that guests are warmly greeted and have all their needs met, helps new members get “plugged in” to the church, manages the church membership database, and assists Sunday School classes and small groups with growth and promotion.
As Youth Minister, Morgan conducts the youth programming and teaches the youth Sunday School class. She also coordinates Midway’s Confirmation Program and all youth ministry special events, including service projects, outings, retreats, and mission trips. Morgan received her Master of Arts degree in Ministry from Asbury Theological Seminary in 2019.
As Midway’s Business Administrator, Melanie handles the day-to-day financial activities of the church. She received her B.S. in Business Administration with a major in Accounting from Tennessee Technological University. Melanie and her husband, James, have three children and moved to this area in 2018.
As Worship Leader, Grant utilizes his vocal talent and models his passion for leading the congregation in heartfelt worship. After making his career as an educator in a Christian high school setting, he felt the call to ministry. So he is channeling his own love of learning and encouraging others to learn about God by continuing his education at Dallas Theological Seminary, pursuing a Master of Arts degree in Christian Education. Grant has also served in Midway’s youth ministry and preschool, and is involved with discipleship.
Charles brings more than 30 years of piano and other musical experience to Midway, from churches across Georgia. A Virginia native, Charles enjoys spending time with his grown children, and grandchildren who live in the area.
